The purpose of the robot blasting work station is to automate the serial blastingprocess through implementation of robotic systems, to reduce operating costs, to increase the quality of production and labour productivity while increasing the flexibility of production and eliminating physically demanding work.
Robot blasting station construction
The entire robot blasting work station is designed as a compact cell that can be transported using a fork-lift truck or crane. The concept consists of a compact, six-axial robot YASKAWA MOTOMAN MH6S-10 with high capacity, an integrated pressure blasting cabin with the dimensions of 1.200 x 1.200 mm with side manipulation tables that transport the work carts with blasted parts.
Movable work carts allow filling and removing blasted parts on one cart while blasting parts (inside the blasting cabin) on another cart, which allows for maximum utilization of the operating time of the robot. The opening for removing and filling blasted parts is protected by a hinged door with safety features. The work station is equipped with a pressure blasting kettle with own diagnostics, a cyclone separator and an exhaust and filtration unit, MOP 1000 JET, with compressed-air automatic cleaning of the filter cartridges.
The entire robot work station is enclosed by screens and doors with safety features, protecting the operator from a potential collision with the moving robot. There is a service door fitted with a safety lock for service tasks in the blasting cabin. Theblasting process is controlled by a PLC unit; the control panel is located on the front side of the cell.
The blasting cabin is designed to be used with abrasives with lower density, such as corundum, ballotini, plastic etc.
