Ballottini
is a glass melt (glass globules) with high level of silicon dioxide. This oval abrasive without harmful substance content is commonly used particularly for blasting of stainless steel and other noble, light metal surfaces such as aluminium or dural. It is characterized by high quality of the treated surface.Ballottini is suitable for gentle blasting which does not damage the surface. It is used for fine blasting (in modeling, on artistic or historical objects). Other than that ballottini can be used for blasting hard plastics, glass or ceramics. |
 Corundum
is from its composition point of view an artificially produced aluminum oxide, created by bauxite melting. We offer white and pink corundum
Pink corundum is formed by addition of chromium oxides. These make pink corundum harder with sharper edges compared to the white corundum. That is why it’s used to abrade metal surfaces and remove rust, previous paint layers or other unevenness. It is suitable for use inblasting cabins. It perfectly cleans and abrades blasted object, which is why it is used for surface preparation before final surface adjustments. |
Steel grit
is an abrasive typical for its sharp edges. It is characterized by varius hardness and roughness but also long service life. It is most commonly used in blasting cabins where it effectively removes rust, old paint and coating or other udesirable imperfections. Steel grit therefore prepares surface for final surface treatment, such as varnishing, galvanization or enamelling. |
Steel granules
(i.e. steel beads or pellets) is an abrasive of oval shape. It offers a long service life. It is primarilz used for blasting of larger surfaces, cleaning and smoothing of these surfaces and welds or hardening of the surface. |
Chopped steel wire
belongs in the group of very hard abrasives with sharper edges. Tha is why it is used particularly for cleaning, matting and roughening of metal surfaces. Its use results in clean, polished surface. Cut steel wire can be used repeatedly (ca. 10 thousand cycles). |
Plastics
Plastic abrasives are soft and light. They do not damage the surface of blasted material. That is why it is used for welds, aerospace industry components, electrical components and other soft materials such as aluminium, glass, plastics or leather. It gently cleans and removes old paints, coatings and varnishes, frosts the glass. It is commonly used for decorative surface treatment such as their polishing or smoothing. Plastics can be used repeatedly (ca. 30 cycles). |
Shredded walnut shells
are natural abrasives. They are light therefore their use is mainly for fine blasting or polishing light alloys, ceramics, cleaning of older pieces, antiques, medical tools. Other commonly blasted materials using shredded walnut shells are wood, plastics or minerals. Shredded shells are used as abrasives for older pieces because they do not damage the material. This is the reason they are by default used in restoration, jewellery or for vintage cars. |
