Continuous Drum Blasting Equipment TKM 240
The continuous drum
blasting equipment is designed for eliminating overflows and small risers in plastic mouldings. The blasting is executed by a spinning wheel that provides plastic abrasive with kinetic force. The
abrasive is repeatedly used for blasting after separation from removed burrs in the rotary separator.
Construction of the blasting equipment TKM 240
The
blasting equipment consists of several units. The main one is the cabin with the spinning wheel and the continuous operating basket. This is where semi-finished products are blasted. The
blasting capacity corresponds with the speed of the
spinning wheel that can be continuously set within the range from 1,000 to 3,500 rpm. Similarly, it is possible to continuously set the speed of the operating basket. The speed of the operating basket determines the time for which the part remains in the working area. The
blasting cabin also includes a bottom material hopper leading into the abrasive screw feeder, which provides its circulation. There is an abrasive sorter separating waste (plastic residues) from the abrasive between the screw feeder output and the spinning wheel input.
The equipment further includes an input vibration feeder and an output basket. The vibration feeder provides optimal batches of semi-finished products in the operating basket. The vibration feeder can work both in continuous and intermittent operation. The residues of the abrasive are removed by the passage through the output basket. The speed of the output basket can be set continuously.
Control of the blasting equipment TKM 240
The entire
blasting equipment is controlled using PLC with a touch screen. The use of the control system provides continuous setting of the production parameters and saving the setting into recipes. Each drive has its own frequency convertor that allows changing speed within the entire operating range. PLC also provides monitoring of the production parameters and error statuses, which makes elimination of defects easier. It is possible to programme special functions upon the customer’s request to better suit their production, such as control of external conveyors and so on. A great emphasis during the development was put on the safety of the equipment; all dangerous areas are protected by sensors and all drives are housed. The equipment forms a compact unit without any unnecessary interference in the space and all electrical appliances are included in the equipment.
